Ridiculous achievements

Ridiculous “achievements”!

Of all the records played up so far, 10-year-old S. Deepa’s feat stands as a test of talent. She can recite all 1,330 couplets of Thirukural in 13 minutes, which means she delivers each one in less than a second.

At first sight, the girl’s recital might seem incomprehensible, with her lips quivering at intense speed to utter the couplets. A closer observation reveals more such inconceivable efforts.

She is now trained to recite the couplets along with their meaning, her trainer Mr. Shanmuganadhan said.

பாவமா இருக்கு. She is a puppet, instead of enjoying childhood, she is being forced by everyone around her(parents, school, society) to sit and mug up. What is the use of this achievement?

  2. child abuse பொருத்தமான பகுப்பு தான் !

ஸ்கூலுக்குப் போறதே பெரிய தலைவலி – (I was forced by everyone around me). So even sending children (against their wishes to school) would be child abuse.

She (the girl) probably has a sense of achievement at her feat; this might inspire her to achieve something else too. She probably enjoys what she is doing, so I dont see what the problem is. Many people have done doctorate, even published papers etc. – but then what is the use of their achievements?

Just some questions that popped in mind.🙂
