Google’s new Indic Transliteration tool

என்ன இப்படி ஈசியா இருக்கு? ரொம்ப சுலபமா தமிழ்ல டைப் அடிச்சிடலாம் போல இருக்கே!

This text was typed using the Goodle indic transliteration device. It is a super-easy tool and we can use it to type in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. As you type in English, you even get a choice of words. When I typed ‘ensai’ to get ‘என்சாய்’, I also got other word options like: ‘என்சை’, ‘எனசை’, ‘எண்சை’ and ‘எங்சை’ as well as an ‘Edit’ option to make any necessary changes to the text. Neat!

No installing fonts, no letting in spyware or virus, albeit unknowingly and of course, no more worrying about your operating system! All you need is the link: http://www.google.com/transliterate/indic/Tamil and a fully functional Ctrl and g keys to toggle!

Blogging

There was a time in my life, when I was slightly obsessive about my Blog. I would keep checking:

If the bloggers I read had posted something new
If they had replied to the clever comments that I had left them
If I had any new comments
If some hot boy blogger had linked to my Blog after a particularly scintillating piece of writing
If my reader from Israel had returned to check my Blog.

And so on.

However, over the months, my enthusiasm levels fell dramatically. Not because I didn’t have much to say. I mean, I always do. But this was because the number of people, who hated me, seemed to keep growing every day. The number of reasons they hated me also seemed to increase. People who had never met me, ever, asked me things like, why is your skin so bad and why are you so terrible looking. One was caught between the desire to vehemently protest and at the same time ask these people, but sir, how did you know?

No. It wasn’t me. Sounds similar though, doesn’t it? I can give you two evidences: 1. I do not have an orkut profile. 2. The English.

It is the SmugBug. She is a rockstar in orkut. 🙂

Blogged out

Blog out might not be the proper blogspeak term, but everyone who has blogged for at least three months understands the phenomenon. Blog out is that feeling that blogging is just not fun any longer. It’s the sense that writing blog posts has become a chore and a duty. Blogging even takes on the feel of drudgery and pain. The blog owner feels burned out on blogging and all of its related activities.

Meet the blogger

How do you feel when you meet a blogger friend face to face? I either overdo or go quiet and come back worrying that I didn’t really come across as the true me and continue worrying that I didn’t impress them enough…..  🙂  .
