The Last Lecture – Randy Pausch

I was reading an article by Chris Guillebeau, “A brief guide to world domination. How to Live a Remarkable Life in a Conventional World“; there was a mention of a Professor who gave a talk titled, “Really achieving your childhood dreams“:

Last September, Professor Randy Pausch gave an inspiring lecture to a small group of friends, family, and colleagues at the university where he had taught for ten years. Randy had recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and did not expect to live much longer.
In his “last lecture,” Randy provided a good mixture of humor and motivational content on the subject of “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams.”

Today as I was reading Madura’s latest post – A Remarkable Life, one of the commentors mentioned the death of Prof. Randy Pausch. Prof. Randy Pausch passed away just 2 days ago on July 25, 2008. Prof Pausch’s Homepage.

சினிமா – ஒரு வித்தியாசமான பிரித்தாய்வு

Dasaavathaaram is proof that Kamalhassan has learnt his lessons well from films like Hey Ram! and Aalavandhaan. Like those films, it is ambitious and self-indulgent but those qualities are limited to behind-the-screen aspects like make-up and special effects. Onscreen, it has a very massy sensibility, revealed in its flimsy story, frenetic screenplay and overall light tone.

My verdict – Kamal Hassan is a creative genious, He is a superb actor, He is a brilliant artist – but the movie could have been better!

Direction: Direction is brilliant for the 12th century episode. Some scenes are good, but not to an extent where its gripping.

It has been a long wait for die hard Kamal fans and the legend has not disappointed them.
